Born into a Dartmoor farming family, John Colton has spent most of his working life involved with property in all its different aspects. Experience gained in banking and auctioneering led to a three-year residential estate agency tutelage in Guildford where he established the ethics and principles which guide his business practices. He then moved back home to Dartmoor to run the flagship office of an eight-branch independent agency based in the market town of Tavistock.

In 1988, after selling the business, John founded the High Colton agency which specialised in the sale of farms and period and residential property within Dartmoor National Park, West Devon and the South Hams areas of Devon.

In 2000 John explored sales and marketing possibilities in America and Australia. He then travelled to New Zealand where he obtained a licence to sell real estate. Now living back on Dartmoor, John has decided to utilise his diverse range of skills in buying and selling by forming his own company, JohnColton.co.uk which specialises in property sales and searches.
